# Login & Registration
In order to make full use of the facilities offered by the DX2 Portal, you must be logged in as a User.
# Users and Trading Partners
While Users and Trading Partners are related concepts, they are not the same. To avoid confusion, it is important to understand their role and place within DX2.
One Trading Partner can have many Users, and a User can only ever belong to one Trading Partner. While Trading Partners are created by registering anew in DX2, Users can only be created by an existing Administrator (User) of a Trading Partner.
TIP
When a Trading Partner is first created, an Administrator is created as the only User by default. This User has the email address and password specified during Trading Partner creation, but can be changed later.
# Log In
If you have an existing User in DX2, you will need to log in to start using the DX2 Portal.
Once your platform administrator has added you to the users list you will receive an email to sign in. Follow the link and use the code provided to login. You will be able to update your password immediately.
