# Connectors
DX2 Connectors are a straight-forward way to allow polling of new UBL Documents between you and your Trading Partner. Polling is achieved through accessing an EDI gateway either through an SFTP/FTP connection or through generating an API authentication token between you and your Trading Partner. The connected Trading Partner can either be a DX2 Trading Partner or a Silent Trading Partner.
Connectors allow your Trading Partner to send you documents via DX2 using different transport methods such as SFTP, FTP, and using our DX2 Public API. Incoming documents are polled from an EDI gateway location specified by the connector as shown below.

Connectors make use of SFTP, FTP, or API Tokens to maintain a connection between you and your Trading Partners.
